Nodes for connecting with nature
Echo Active is inspired by mycelial networks. In the same way that fungal threads form a mesh of nodes, EA nodes create connections between community groups, organisations, and projects, and users and topics.
Nodes give people a place to learn about your group or project and any upcoming activities. You can create a node about a place, species, or anything nature focused. Creating nodes and events is also completely free.
Create events for your community
Once your node is live, you're ready to share an event. Simply verify your phone number to get started. This helps us protect event organisers and keep Echo Active secure. Once verified, you can create your first event and share it with our community.
Events can be:
- One-off — on a specific date
- Recurring — weekly, fortnightly or monthly
- Irregular — without a schedule
Share activities such as:
- Nature walks, ecotours or birdwatching
- Gardening, plant propagation or swaps, and related workshops
- Landcare or bush regen
- Community events
Bookings and payment can be handled through Echo Active or externally. If booking through the site, you can set a capacity for the event. Your event can also be free, pay-what-you-can with a set minimum or fixed price. You can also link to external booking sites, or skip booking altogether.
How people discover your events
Events published on our site can be shared with users interested in relevant topics or those who live nearby. We've collected an audience of over 1000 Melbourne-based nature lovers, and will be sharing selected events with members of our site and a couple of local Meetup groups:
