The Tropical Permaculture Guidebook is a collaborative project by East Timorese NGO Permatil (Permaculture Timor-Leste), xpand Foundation and Disruptive Media. It is a comprehensive resource of permaculture design, food sovereignty and environmental regeneration strategies, a practical guide towards strong, resilient and sustainable communities. It has been developed for the tropics, but most of the content is easily adapted for all climate zones.
Currently in English, the downloadable PDFs are available globally on a pay what you can basis because we believe in and act using permaculture's Fair Share ethic and knowledge must be accessible to those who can't afford it. The printed edition is available in Australia. Both can be accessed through our website. We are currently translating and reformatting the guidebook into Tetum, the national language of East Timor, with Spanish, Portuguese, French and other national languages of the tropics to follow.
Bringing the world to the table, the Tropical Permaculture Guidebook – International edition has been downloaded over 60,000 times across 169 countries, since it was launched in October 2018.
