Echo Active

Echo Active is a community for nature lovers. We raise awareness about threatened species and ecosystems, our changing climate, and indigenous ways of connecting to country. We also promote land restoration, sharing of native plants and vegetables, and partner with eco-positive businesses.

EA is inspired by mycelial networks - nature’s great connectors, aka the 'wood-wide web.' Mycelia break down and share nutrients across ecosystems and spawn mushrooms that help to disperse the fungi. In the same way, users on EA create nodes: topic-based hubs that link with other nodes, events, and communities. Nodes help ideas flow, bring people together, and grow the network on and offline.

Our platform is initially focused on creating content and events in Narrm, Victoria and as we grow, we plan to expand interstate.

Acknowledgment

EA was created on the lands of the Wurundjeri of the Kulin nation, a people whose sovereignty has never been ceded. We pay respect to their elders past and present and acknowledge the pivotal role of Aboriginal and first nations people in Australia and around the globe.
